Sewing

So here are some pictures of what I've made since getting my sewing machine a few weeks ago :). Not including the plain fluffy purple pillow cases because they're a bit boring lol.

1. This was the first one, I made the centre part first on black fabric, red and orange going against eachother, then stuck it under the folded edges of the purple fabric and sewd it on to make the frame.
2. This one took awhile to do since I'd pinned down all the red fabric first.

3. This was what I made for all the scissors that came with the sewing machine, surprisingly enough they are all handy lol! And the perfect place for it too, on the games rack :D

4. This is one of my favourites because of the bright colours that seem to stand out well on this fabric, I need more of this thin jeans like fabic!! :)

5. This one didn't turn out like I wanted but the crinkles make it look old and worn. Stuck with the pattern on this one :)

6. And finally, the bag I made! Which went horribley wrong at first because I sewed the handles in the wrong place! But after re-doing it, it doesn't look too bad now and works just like any other bag, part from when the laces are undone it can lay completely flat so I can see everything inside it clearly.
Hi :) Well here is my very first blog entry :D I have no idea what I am doing properly yet but I will figure this out.

I'm Sarah and I'm an Art student at NUCA studying Fine Art and just finished my first year, more recently been based in sculpture and painting which has been fun. Just two-ish months into the summer holidays and I recently got myself a sewing machine which goes against most of the art work I usually do, haha, but it's great and I have wanted one for about 5-6 years now. So I will be uploading pictures of what I make at points :). Oh, and I'm very obsessed with patterns and Op Art, I admit it, I like them a lot. Lol. It's very rare I don't have some pattern in any of my work.

Alrighty then, I'm going to go off and find some pictures to upload now :)
